Nesconset Kids’ Story
When leadership shifted at Nesconset Christian Church, so did the vision for their kids ministry. The program, once called Kingdom Kids and branded with a dark medieval aesthetic, needed a fresh identity that matched where the ministry was going: family-focused, Christ-centered, and deeply welcoming to both church and non-church families.
The heart behind the rebrand was clear — to create a safe and joyful place where kids feel like they belong, families feel cared for, and every Sunday feels like an exciting experience to learn about Jesus together.
About the Project
At the time, I was serving as the Creative Director at Nesconset Christian Church and worked closely with the kids ministry team and church leadership to dream up the future of their kids ministry. Together, we cast vision, explored renaming options, refined language and tone, and built out a persona for how families and kids should experience church.
The result was renaming Kingdom Kids to Nesconset Kids, creating a sub-brand that connects directly to the identity of Nesconset Christian Church rather than feeling like a separate entity. The goal was for families to see it as an extension of their church home, not just a program. From there, I created a bright, organic identity full of energy and warmth — bold colors, playful polka dots, a welcoming logo, fun brand assets, and custom murals to transform the space into a place where kids say, “This is church? This is awesome!”
The Problem
The kids ministry at Nesconset Christian Church, formerly called Kingdom Kids, had an identity that no longer fit where the ministry was headed. Its dark medieval theme felt outdated and disconnected from the joyful, family-focused experience kids and parents were actually having each week. With new leadership and a fresh vision to create a safe, exciting place where kids and families feel cared for and connected, the ministry needed a name and identity that truly matched its heart.
The Solution
We gave the ministry a complete rebrand — starting with the renaming of Kingdom Kids to Nesconset Kids. From there, I developed a bright, bold, and approachable identity rooted in the values of family, belonging, and joy. Playful polka dots, vibrant colors, and custom murals brought the vision to life, transforming the kids space into one that feels exciting and welcoming. The new branding not only reflects the ministry’s heart but also creates a space where parents say, “I want to bring my kids to church,” and kids are excited to come back week after week.

“We had an incredible experience working with Paxton. From the very beginning, she was organized, thoughtful, and creative. She took the time to carefully plan out the design for our kids ministry hallways, even sketching it out in detail so we could envision the final product. What truly stood out was her ability to rally volunteers from within the church to bring the project to life—and she kept us informed every step of the way. The end result was not only beautiful, but a fun and inviting space that our kids absolutely love spending time in.”
